What is Remy Hair?
Remy hair is hair that has all the cuticles aligned in the same direction. This alignment allows the hair to remain untangled. Hair that is not Remy has been collected with cuticles facing opposing directions, requiring a chemical process to remove the cuticle altogether and making the hair less durable and more prone to tangling.
What is Human Hair?
Human Hair is simply what it states. It consists of 100% human hair and is not blended with synthetic fibers.
What is Organic hair?
Engineered by our brilliant scientists to look, feel and act like human hair by aligning proteins into strands of hair. Organic hair is an entirely new category of hair: neither human nor synthetic. It’s completely organic and natural. Human hair is expensive and synthetic hair is unnaturally shiny, tangles, and will melt if heat is applied. The only difference is that human hair is made from keratin protein, whereas Organic hair is made from collagen protein.
What is X-fiber hair?
X-fiber is a man-made fiber created to look like human hair. It is the most economical hair.
What are Micro Link I-tip extensions?
I-tip extensions are attached to small sections of hair by inserting the extension and the hair into a bead close to the scalp. The bead is then pressed so that the I-tip and the section of hair are secured within the bead (also referred to as micro link).
What are Fusion U-tip extensions?
These extensions are pre-tipped with a keratin substance. Small sections of hair are pressed to the keratin tip with a heated extension tool so that the keratin is bonded to the hair.
What are Tape extensions?
Also known as “lunch break hair extensions”, tape extensions are easily and rapidly applied. Small wefts of hair are attached to a thin adhesive base and applied close to the hairline. Remy tape extensions provide an even distribution of hair to recreate the look of natural hair. They are also better for your hair, requiring less washing and giving you the option of using a dry shampoo instead. Best of all, you can go up to 8-weeks between maintenance.
What are Clip-On extensions?
This technique is a temporary alternative for hair extensions. Clip-ons can be worn all day and all night. Some people wear clip-ons just for night life, while others wear them every day. Clip-ons are very versatile and easy to apply.
Which method is best for me?
Tape, micro link I-tips and fusion U-tips are usually worn long-term 1-3 months. Clip-ons are able to be worn daily, and can be clipped on and off. Please visit our “Product Techniques & Benefits” page for more information. We also recommend that you consult with your stylist for a personalized consultation. Consultations are usually provided free of charge.
How do I choose my color?
Consult the Bmu hair color chart. Sometimes a highlight or lowlight similar to your hair color will blend even better than a near match.
Can I re-use extensions?
All of the extensions can be reused; however, the Fusion U-tips are generally not considered reusable because of the difficulty in finding a stylist who has the expertise to refuse the hair.
Can I color my hair extensions?
Yes. You can color all of the extensions except OCP and the X-Fiber.
How do I remove my hair extensions?
It is recommended that you get extensions removed by a professional unless they are clip-ons, in which case you simply unclip. With fusion or tape, a stylist will generally saturate the bonded part with an extension removing liquid. With micro links, the bead is pressed back into a circle.
Can my hair extensions be straightened, curled, or dyed?
Yes. All can be heat styled or dyed with the exception of X-Fiber. OCP hair can be straightened and curled but it cannot be dyed.
How many packs of hair will I need?
It varies depending on your desired result and personal hair quality. Generally, one pack of OCP 8 pc is enough for thin to regular hair and two packs are enough for normal to thick hair. On average, three to four packs of U-tip, I-tip, or tape are needed. Please consult your stylist for a personalized recommendation.
How do I care for my extensions?
Be gentle. The more gentle you treat them, the longer they will last and the better they will look. When you are brushing your hair, hold your hair at the base, start at the ends and gently work your way up.
How do I wash my extensions?
Gently comb hair starting from the ends and work your way towards the weft, link, or tape. Use a wide tooth comb to detangle. Place hair under warm running water. Gently shampoo, condition, and rinse. A gentle shampoo and conditioner is recommended. If you are using fusion tips, micro links, or tape extensions, avoid conditioning the link, fusion tip or tape since this may cause the extension to slip. Do not rub or wring hair. Gently pat with a towel to remove excess water. Detangle using fingers. Air dry or blow dry on a low setting.
How do I store my extensions?
Find a cool and dry place to keep your extensions. You can keep your extensions in plastic containers or in hair extension containers. These are sold in various beauty supply stores.
How do I style my extensions?
We recommend that you have your extensions cut to your desired style by your hair stylist. YouTube is a good resource for finding styling ideas.
